I continue to be so proud of our students’ accomplishments and look forward to celebrating their success. WE NEED YOU!!! Our child nutrition department is desperately in need of a part time employee to assist with breakfast and lunch preparation and serving. The position is 3.5 hours per day, 9:00a.m. to 12:30p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year. If you are interested, apply on the district website or call our Sagle office. REMINDERS/UPDATES: ASSESSMENTS: Our 3rd-6th graders will continue their state testing. K-3 students will be taking their final Idaho Reading Indicator (IRI) of the year. Thank you for encouraging your children to "show what they know." Staff use assessment data to help guide instruction and plan intervention. REGISTRATION & ENROLLMENT for new AND returning students for the 24-25 school year is open. Please visit lposd.org to complete the necessary steps. Teachers are already working on class placement so it is important we have accurate numbers. We are very close to two sections of kindergarten so if you have an incoming kinder OR know of someone who does, PLEASE get registered as soon as possible. Call our Sagle office if you need any assistance. Speaking of class placement, if you would like to share anything specific about your child’s learning needs, please print (or email) and return this Student Placement Parent Input Form (1).pdf to me by Friday, 5/3. "SCHOOL LUNCH HERO DAY": This Friday 5/3, your child can dress as his/her favorite superhero and help celebrate Ms. Dawn and Mrs. Erine for all they do for us. Please no face paint, masks, or props. *Every Friday is an early release day; students dismiss at 1:20p.m. JOG-A-THON : May 6-17 during student’s first recess (9:30 K-3, 9:45 4-6). We continue to acknowledge students with praise and incentives, such as earning extra recess and field trips. Thank you for taking time to review our Positive Behavior Interventions of Support (PBIS) documents below, as well as our Sagle Student Handbook. Talk to your child about ways to earn SOAR cards. We will have one final PBIS assembly to celebrate demonstration of our core values (no major Office Discipline Referrals the entire quarter). Sincerely, Mrs. Davis, Principal WEATHER : As you may be aware, we are expecting quite a bit of inclement weather over the next few weeks complete with snow and very cold temperatures. Please be sure to send your children with warm clothing including coats (not just hoodies), snow pants, hats, gloves and boots (K-2nd especially). If you are in need of any of these items, simply contact the Sagle office, and we can assist. STUDENT EXPECTATIONS : Please review the 23-24 Sagle Student Handbook (2).pdf with your children. Our staff will be spending time doing the same this week, especially our schoolwide and classroom expectations. Ask your children how many SOAR cards they have earned, if they’ve been selected as "SOAR Student of the Week" and ways they are ensuring they can participate in the second quarter PBIS Celebration. SAGLE SPIRIT : Just a reminder every Friday is not only an early release day (Students dismiss at 1:20p.m.), it is also our Sagle Spirit Day. Students are encouraged to wear their Sagle gear or colors (navy blue and gray). Visit our school store at turnerpromotions.com . Fridays are also Popcorn Days; our 6th graders sell freshly popcorn for 50 cents a bag during lunch recess.
